This baby crocodile seemed to have mistaken a giant hippo for a rock, lying across it to bask in the sun. Even when the hippo began to move, the young crocodile didn’t get the hint and remained in position. The three ton beast apparently didn’t seem bothered by the reptile on its back, and gave it 15-minute piggy back ride in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.

An abandoned baby monkey has turned adversity into education after becoming a cute and cuddly ambassador for wildlife. The six-week-old marmoset was abandoned when her mother could no longer produce enough milk and is now fed and cared for around the clock by a carer at Western Sydney’s Wild Animal Encounters. Yet to be named, the tiny marmoset will visit schools, shopping centres and corporate events to promote wildlife conservation. Picture: Newspix / Rex Features
